ummm....hi again!

I totally forgot I set this blog up....this is the price you pay for aging I guess...CRAP! So, what's up you ask? LOTS! The boy is playing baseball, and actually likes it...it was a near thing for awhile! He is like his mamma, not much of an athlete, but we have discovered he has a natural talent for the game and hope he wants to continue to play. He will actually watch baseball on tv (for about three innings anyway lol!)...so that is a news flash for the world *grins*. End of the school year is Friday, so we are gearing up for the annual academic evaluations, I am nervous and weepy, he is TOTALLY confident...and at 7 yrs old doing 3rd grade reading and ALGEBRA so I dont think we have anything to worry about. That's it for now, gonna go be productive and stop staring at the computer....maybe...for awhile....or til I get bored cleaning whichever comes first! Bye for now!

Fundraiing and the stupid "I can do that" gene

So I am nearing the end of a HUGE fundraiser for my sons school....yeah, I know, WHY would I decide to volunteer to be the one to TRACK, ORGANIZE, and HOLD everything? I will tell you why, cause I am stupid that's why! Why else would I want to turn my dining room into donation central? *heaves huge sigh*...my husband has been nothing but supportive, my son just keeps asking why we have all this STUFF, and I keep saying "only a few more days". The reality of being on a fundraising committee is far more intimidating than one would think. I had volunteered to "organize" the actual Live and Silent auctions thinking, huh! this should be a piece of cake. Well, it's actually the whole freaking cake people! There is the collecting of items, the tracking of said collected items, and the storage of same said items. OK, I can do THAT!....But there is actually a lot more involved....dammit! Like getting parents to actually turn in completed forms! GASP! SIGH! SCREAM! Really, why bother with deadlines when you KNOW most people will actually be running on their own personal schedules?? The event is Saturday, today is Wednesday (closer to Thursday, but who is counting? oh yeah! me!) and apparently some parents seem to think I don't need the items until Saturday...ummm, hello? I have LISTS I need to make, and forms I need to fill out, and, also, I want the stuff before the actual event! REALLY, I want the items before the event. (Trust me, the previous statement bears repeating, like maybe a million times!) Cause after the event my job is SO not over...no there are the THANK YOU letters, to be sent acknowledging the wonderful people and businesses that donated. And, let's face it people in this economy? We really need to make sure EVERY. SINGLE. PERSON. is thanked cause they did NOT have to give (key word: GIVE) us anything. Thanks for listening, and I will return in a few days to report that nothing came in late *INSERT HUGE SNORT*, and every person attending helped *EYE ROLL HERE*! But know this, we are incredibly grateful that parents/businesses/individuals helped in some way. And also know that having OCD, I will assure that ANYONE who donated anything will get a letter of thanks, cause that is what I volunteered for right? Goodnight, and happy Fundraising to you all!

First Post about lotsa crap

So I am starting a blog! Pretty scary undertaking for a 40 year old woman who barely knows how to use a computer, much less manage to do something so technical lol! I hope that this turns out to be something entertaining. It probably won't, but a girl can have hope right? right? Please tell me there is hope, cause without hope I am just another bored housewife looking to have an excuse to be on the computer all damn day *smirks*...SO, what shall we talk about today? How about the wonderful world of kids sports? My 7 year old is in his first year of baseball. Technically it's pitching machine little league, and lemme tell you it's pretty cool! I ADORE baseball, as does my husband. HOWEVER, we seem to have given birth to a child that is, shall we say......NOT interested in sports in the least. This does not sit well with my husband, who grew up playing sports....and still plays softball as if he was 25 not 45! Don't get me started on the whole "you are NOT as young as you used to be my love, and therefore you can't play the WHOLE OUTFIELD" conversation...anyway what the hell was I talking about? Oh yeah! my boy seems to think if he isn't perfect, he doesn't wanna play...which leaves me frustrated and trying to explain the concept of batting averages (which he GETS, cause he can do algebra in the FIRST GRADE...which will be the title of another blog so don't you worry bout missing out on anything) He seems to think all baseball players ALWAYS hit/catch/throw the ball perfectly every time. So I tried getting him to EEK! watch a game...didn't happen. Cause see it's not Ben 10 or Bakugan or freaking anything on the Cartoon Network, and he seems to think if he gets to watch tv, he watches what HE watches not stupid baseball! UGH! Tell me, where did I go wrong with this child? huh? Cause I have a massive baseball card collection (including a pristine Greg Maddux rookie card thank you very much! and if he doesn't go into the Hall as a Brave I may cry)....and I LOOOOVE me some baseball! So I ask you, why can't my boy just indulge me a teeny bit? I'm old I need special care and I don't ask for much lol! Wow! good to get THAT off my chest. Guess I should call it a day! Oh, in case anyone was wondering, the boy went 2 for 3 and had an assist in his first game...and what do you think HE thought about his first game? He was TICKED he didn't hit ALL 3 TIMES HE WAS AT BAT! Remember the whole batting average thing? Didn't matter to HIM...*sigh* I guess he just wants to be perfect, and I can't fault him for that...at least not very much anyway......nighty night...hopefully I will remember HOW to get back on here so I can post some more from the ramblings of my brain...we will see
